My Babies

I love my kids! They didn't scooch in and get real "lovey dovey" in this shot, but you know the love is there...especially when Libby is telling Grace what she is doing wrong and Grace is looking back at Libby and continuing to do what Libby is telling her not to do until Libby starts screaming at her and then Grace starts crying and then...you get the picture. Yep, I live in a normal household too. :)

No Naps for Me!

So she says! I think both girls took naps every day we were in Lafayette. Grandma and grandpa just wore them out what with all the visits to the park and the water park and McDonald's playland. They enjoyed their time with grandma and grandpa...that is for sure!!!

Grandma, on the other hand, only managed to be in pictures with the little man. This is not really the true view of how her time was dispersed. I suppose I just didn't have the camera handy when she was loving on the girls. :)

Grandpa!

I am a fly by night type of girl. My husband gets so frustrated that I don't plan things out...and at times, well, so do I. Luckily, when it comes to pictures, it's not that big of a deal whether I plan shots out or not. That being said, I did get lucky and get at least one shot of grandpa with each of the kids. Grace is the real "grandpa's girl", but all of the kids adore "Bampa", as Grace calls him. :)

Kissin' Cousins

My cousin, Jason, and his wife seem to be right on our schedule with babies. :) A month after Grace was born they had a baby boy named Roland. He was a big chunk of a baby and Grace was so petite. We laughed about it and moved on. Then...four months after John was born came baby Marilyn. This time? It's our baby who is the big chunk and their little Marilyn who is quite the petite little girl. Granted, she's younger than John, but don't they look so darling next to each other? John was actually quite preturbed and was trying to push her out of HIS space. He wanted Aunt Bessie ALL to himself...no sharing. :)

New Tricks!

I am just amazed at how each of my children are so different from the rest. They each have their own traits and tricks. This is Bubby's newest trick (not to be shared by his sisters...they just never even tried to do this). When I sit him down in the papasan to feed him, he just sits right up. He wants so badly to MOVE! Evidently this makes him feel like he is getting somewhere. :)

Pizza?

We must eat pizza too much around here because every time Grace hears the buzzer on the oven go off she comes running and cries, "PIZZA!!!"

First Grade

We started first grade today. It took us two hours to finish (with a few interruptions) and by the end Libby said she wished there was more to do. Of course, the beginning of any curriculum is review so she was quite disappointed that it wasn't hard. I told her it would get a little harder as we go, but that they try to step you through the process so you don't get frustrated. She said she was frustrated that it wasn't hard enough. Gotta love her!

Our math activity for the day was to play with the shape blocks. I expected her to look at me and ask what she was supposed to do with them. No, not Libby, she opened the jar and within two minutes had made a giraffe...and then a coconut tree for the giraffe to eat from. She must have played with these at preschool or something. I was utterly impressed at her imagination and how she just took off with the project. Next she made a cat and herself (sitting indian style) next to the cat eating a coconut. I didn't take a picture of that because I was too busy trying not to giggle as she went off on a tangent about how she wasn't sure how she was 6-years old because then she would be old enough to use a knife to open the coconut to get the milk out of it. Wow! So much fun.

My Kiddos!

I love these pictures of each of my loves. In this picture Libby looks like such a big girl. She is growing up so fast.

Here, daddy is helping Grace put her flip flops on. This girl LOVES her flip flops! She has been wearing sissy's, so it will be nice for her to have a pair that fit her now.

And look how big this little boy is getting. He looks so darling sitting here playing with ahis toy. He looks just as much my baby as Libby does my big girl. :)

Toother!

Well, I just told Aunt Judy this past weekend that we weren't seeing anything for teeth in this little boy's mouth...then, he woke up this morning. I thought I caught a glimpse of a little white line so I went to stick my finger in his mouth to feel for it. That was easier said than done. He grabbed hold of my finger and wouldn't let me in. :) I did eventually get in there, then I thought I might be seeing things because I certainly couldn't FEEL anything. So, I checked visually again. It's not sticking through yet, but it is DEFINITELY there! He is letting me know by being quite grouchy about it too. :) Pretty soon he'll be able to eat all the solids that he drools over at the dinner table. Oh, how happy he'll be! :)
