Flipping Out

Back to the chocolate chip incident today. At bedtime Libby was explaining to daddy what happened, which of course was all my fault because I "wasn't paying attention" and I "wasn't sleeping with her". At the end of her explanation I said, "And am I going to sleep with you tomorrow after what happened today?" She, of course, replied, "Yes." I informed her that, no, I wasn't. Her reply? "Then I'm going to flip out! I'm just going to cry."

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful:

1.) For a husband with such a big heart. I'm not going to go into details, but just know that I married one of the most amazing men on Earth! :)

2.) For lessons in patience with people. While the girls were supposed to be napping, they were, instead, sneaking chocolate chips. I wasn't very happy about it, but, all in all, the sun WILL still come up tomorrow.

3.) For baby teeth. When Grace gets super grouchy I can always blame the teeth...even if one doesn't pop for awhile. :)

4.) That our drywall is now done. We have the tedious job of painting and trim work and flooring to be done...all before February 5th. Wish us luck!

5.) For the Bible. Isn't it amazing that God left us His Word?

Ring, Ring...Hello

Chris was worried that the dry wall guys would come while we were both tied up. So, he put Libby on "watch" duty. She was supposed to come get him if they did happen to show up. Well, he was almost finished with his project when Libby comes wandering in the room. He said, "Now, are the dry wall guys here?" She said, "No, they told me on my phone that they would be here in 50-90-40 seconds."

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful:

1.) That the girls haven't gotten sick yet this winter. I didn't have Miss Soya today because she was sick. :(
2.) For a peaceful day with only three children. I love all four of them, but it was nice getting a break. :)
3.) For friends to exercise with. It just makes it easier.
4.) That it was almost 40 degrees today. That is much better than the -30 of last week.
5.) That God always provides. There was more than plenty of food at MOPS today (or so I heard) even though the food ended up getting thrown together last night. Thank you to ALL you girls who ended up helping in this area. :)

Do they have to grow up?

Here is Libby at her first birthday. Can you believe she used to be so little? It's just amazing how fast they grow! It almost makes me want to cry when I think about her at such a young age. Why do they have to grow up?

In the mean time, I will enjoy Grace as a little baby because it won't be long and I'll be talking about her growing up too quickly.
Anyway, you can definitely tell that they are sisters, but Grace is definitely taking on her own looks and facial expressions. She definitely didn't make the mess Libby did with the cake though. :)

Pictures...Finally!

Ok, sorry about the screw up. It was on my end. I tried to export the videos straight from picassa and it wouldn't let me. Here they are though. :)

And these are of Grace's first birthday. Anyone who was at Libby's first birthday party can attest to the fact that Grace didn't even get a quarter as dirty as Libby did. Maybe I can find her first birhtday pictures and post a comparison shot. :)

My Hero!

Yet another Libby funny! She was playing "Super Why" on www.pbskids.org. They have a game on there where you can make your own hero by spelling words. She was doing a great job and wanted to show her daddy how to make a hero. At the end it asks you to name your hero. Daddy was standing there proudly waiting for her to state that she wanted to name her hero "daddy" or "Chris". Instead, he was left with his mouth hanging wide as she said, "I want to name my hero, Toad." That is the dad of the kids I babysit.

Excercisin' Momma

I was really beating myself up earlier today about my weight and how I didn't have anytime to exercise and blah, blah, blah when I realized that I had two hours before I had to be at Bunco. So, I stopped whining and got on the treadmill. Libby wanted to come down with me and when I got started she said, "You and your treadmill." I about died laughing because I've used it a total of twice in the last month or two...two days ago and tonight. She made it sound like I am always on the thing. Ha! Anyway, it got me to thinking that maybe I should track my weight for...EVERYBODY to see. Maybe that would encourage me to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I thought about doing this when Alida (one of my blogging buddies) did it, but chickened out. This time I'm not going to chicken out so let's see where we can go from here. :)

Grace-ful?

I knew as soon as I named our daughter "Grace" she was going to be me all over. Yep, she's the clumsy one. Almost daily we wake up to a new bump, bruise or scratch somewhere on her little body. How do you do this in a CRIB?!? Either way...while we were in Ohio she tripped and fell (yes, she's almost completely walking now) into my parents end table and got a nice looking bruise on her cheek. It could have been WAY worse (there was a metal outlet right next to where she fell that would have done more than bruising) so I was just glad that she hit the lesser of the two evils. None the less, it is a reminder that "graceful" she is not. BUT, through it all...all the falls and trips she makes, I like the way my mother-in-law put it best. She might not be graceful physically, but she is VERY graceful in the aftermath. She almost never cries or fusses when she falls! She is such a sweet little girl.

Me: Do you want grilled cheese for lunch?

Libby: No, my tummy is not saying it's hungry.

Me: Ok, let me know when it is hungry.

Libby: Well, it is hungry for something that is not healthy.

Me: Oh really! What is that?

Libby: A lollipop.

Well, That's a First!

Today our Parents as Teachers (PAT) gal came over to visit with the girls. Since Grace just turned one, she got to take her first swing at the Denver test. The first thing that Kristy TRIED to have her do was to clack two blocks together. Grace plated with them a bit and then found the box that they came from. She picked up the box and started to put the blocks away. Kristy and I started to laugh and I said, "Well, that's a first!" and Kristy said, "Actually, it is!" She never did clack them together.

Yummy Milk

Grace is redy for bed! I told Chris to get her some milk first, though. He did so, and now she is slurping it down...so fast that she is forgetting to breathe. Oh, wait, I figured out why...Chris put SUGAR in the milk!

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful:

1.) for a wonderful husband. Are there times I get frustrated with him? Sure, but I wouldn't trade him for the WORLD and I if I had it to do all over again...I would still say, "I do."

2.) for a wonderful Christmas! Chris's parents came here and we had a great week together and then we went to B-town for Christmas and another great week.

3.) for snow. Why? Because I was quite disappointed to come home to snow on the ground after a week in Ohio with NO snow, and God says we're to be thankful for all things. So...I'm thankful for snow. :)

4.) for two little girls who travel very well (or mostly well on Grace's part). We didn't hear a peep (at least a negative one) from Libby and Grace only cried after about five hours or so.

5.) that we all get a fresh new start in 2009. Actually, the Bible says that we get a fresh start every DAY! Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him. Lamentations 3:22-24. So, make the best of your new start.
