Blah!

After our first day burst of potty-energy...we petered out. Only 4 m&m's yesterday and NONE today. Every time you would ask if she had to go potty today she would say politely, "No, thank you." Oh well, we'll just continue to work with her as she is ready.

Comparison Pic #2

And, here are all 3 kids (Libby-top, Grace-middle, John-bottom) at right around 9 months old.

Comparison Pic #1

I love comparison pictures. Here are Libby (top) and Grace (bottom) at just over 2 1/2 years old. I love that they are both their own people and that God made them so uniquely even though they have the same parents. :)

Payment Schedule

Grace recieves:

1 m&m if she sits on the potty
3 m&m's if she pees in the potty
5 m&m's if she tells mommy she has to go potty and does
5 m&m's if she poops in the potty
10 m&m's if she tells mommy she has to poop and does

First days total payment: 17 m&m's

We, of course, have to have some accidents while we are learning to potty, so she said she had to go while I was feeding John his solids. I told her to go ahead and do it while mommy stayed with John and she ran back, took her diaper off...and hurt herself. So, she came out to me crying...with no diaper on, mind you, and peed all over the floor. It would be so much easier to do this if someone could take John and Libby for a couple of days so I could concentrate on just Grace. But, life is life, and we will make do with what we have...each other! :) Here is hoping for progress!!!

This Just In...

Grace peed in her potty today!!! Yea!

VBS Fun!

Ok. This post is a little late, but better late than never, right? A few weeks ago Libby got to enjoy her first VBS ever! We live far enough out of town that I just decided to teach so I wouldn't have to come home and then go back in town to pick her up. Every night (except for the first night) as we drove in to church, she would start to cry because "she hadn't won anything yet". I kept telling her to hold her pants on, take her Bible to class and KEEP MEMORIZING THOSE VERSES!!! Then we would spend the rest of the trip working on her verse. Well, Thursday night came (we went from Sumday to Thursday) and at the end they did the BIG week-long prizes. Sure enough...she had enough points to take first place in her class! So, she got to take home this awesome playdough kit with LOTS of playdough. Perseverance, I tell ya! :)

No Thank You!

John took his first bath in the "big" bath two nights ago. He has never really been a fan of bath time anyway, but he REALLY did not like this new way of bathing. I don't know if it was sissy sharing his bath (she had a blast!) or if it was just change or if he really just doesn't like water that much, but he cried the entire five minutes he was in there. Poor little guy! Growing up is tough.

It's Growing!

Grace's hair is getting a little longer and a little longer. She can now have her hair in a pony tail OR pig tails fairly easy. We get requests for this hair style most days. It probably keeps her cool in this hot weather! :)

Just Too Cute

This is by far my favorite picture of my adorable little boy! I just love how cute he is here. This crazy little boy has perfected the art of crawling and now gets whatever catches his fancy. He holds his own bottle now. He is eating all kinds of yummy food, although he is still not too certain about anything that is actually solid. He has his two bottom teeth and has a habit of biting his fingers when he puts them in his mouth. His little face just gets this awful look every time he does it. He still always has his smile on his face and is the most contented baby I have ever met. He just amazes me! I am so glad God blessed us with this precious little fella!!!

John is 9 Months!

My baby boy is 9 months old already! Where has the time flown? I took him into town today for his 9 month pictures. Of course I was worried about whether he'd be hungry or tired or a million other things. Once again, he didn't fail me...he was a perfect angel! I had a blast with my "John" time. These are 5 of the pictures we decided on buying. (So, if you want a pose...let me know what you want.) I will let the best pose have it's own post though. :)

Feet

This little girl has always had an obsession with feet. I didn't take the time to look up the pictures, but I have a picture of her drinking her bottle with her feet and another of her eating cheerios with her feet. I have a picture still on the camera (from this last week) with her putting her feet in some tupperware (because it looked comfortable?) so she can wear them as shoes...didn't work very well. She puts her feet on the table (and gets in trouble), she puts her feet on dishes, she was trying to put her feet in the cookie dough when she was making cookies with Grandma Tucker. But here she is using her foot as a bag holder. She sat there for like 5 minutes just holding it...then I got the camera and she wanted it off. She is so crazy! I think her job someday will involve feet. :)

Rascal!

John is becoming quite the little rascal. We sometimes have to prop his bottle up (he's pretty good at holding it himself now) for him to be able to get all the milk. This day daddy laid a roll of paper towel under the bottle. John finished the bottle and then moved straight into play time!

That being said, at this point in time we will have to start keeping the paper towel roll OFF the floor completely as John decided yesterday that he had the crawling thing down enough that he can get where he wants. It's more of a lift my body and fall forward type thing, but it gets him where he wants now. Watch out world!

Mesmerized

If you look really hard (you might have to click on the picture to make it big) you can tell how mesmerized by the fire John is. He just stared and stared. I think he would have gone closer if mommy would have let him. I'm glad that he isn't crawling yet!
