Libby has been taking swim lessons for the past two weeks and today was the day to jump off the diving board. It was, obviously, her first time and she doesn't do ANYTHING the first time around. It takes her awhile to warm up to ideas. Today was no exception.
Here she is waiting at the end of the line for her turn. Mind you, she has been trying to sneak over to the "finished" line the whole time with the lifeguards chasing her back to the board each time.
Here she is with one little girl to go in front of her. The next part of the story is that it takes two or three life guards about a minute and a half to two minutes to coerce her to the board. They finally just picked her up and carried her. Amazingly, she didn't scream.
Here is the life guard getting ready to pick her back up and toss her into the water because she certainly isn't going to do it on her own. Look at her arms, you can tell she's fighting her.
And, finally, we have corralled yet another one into the water...whether she likes it or not. She didn't, by the way. I asked her after swim lessons what she thought of the diving board and she said, "It was scary!" On the other hand, you have Grace, who was ready to go jump straight into the water without my permission while I was trying to take these crazy pictures! Oh, the differences. They make life fun.
