Finding a Home!

I told Grace to find a home for a few of her Christmas presents. She was obedient right away...which can be difficult at times when it comes to cleaning. As I went to lay her down for nap...this is what I found. She shoved them in her clothes drawer. :) Well, I guess I'll have to help her find a new home for them now. I love that girl!

Feeding Frenzy

John had a blast with grandpa feeding him!

Grandpa likes to call it "art work"!

And, John just enjoys whatever he is doing with his grandpa.

Libby's Snowman

So, we never seem to get outside when the snow is right for a snowman. So...Aunt Stephanie helped Libby make this little guy. :)

Happy Birthday, Grace!

My Sweet Baby Girl

First Birthday

Look How Little She Looks

Happy Third Birthday Baby Girl!

My little Grace is three today! Where did the time go? It seems like it was yesterday that my family made the trip out to see this precious little girl after she was born. She has been such a joy to watch grow. She has such a sweet little heart. I usually put 3 (because she turned 3) balloons outside the birthday girl (or boy)'s door and put streamers in their doorway. I forgot! OOPS! So, I was blowing her balloons up for her this morning. She had one balloon in each hand and I was blowing up the third balloon when Libby said she would like two balloons, as well. I told her it wasn't her birthday and she would get 6 balloons coming up in March...then I finished blowing up the third balloon. I went to give the balloon to Grace and she said, "No, Libbabeth." So, I handed the balloon to Libby and she said thank you. Then, Grace looked at Libby with a confused look and said, "Here," and gave her a second balloon to fulfill her wish. With that, they ran off and played with the balloons together. Never even crossed her mind (this morning, at least) to be selfish with her balloons. I love watching that grace within her show itself. I love that when she gets carpet dropped on her face (yes, it really happened) she just smiles and goes on her way...tiny scabs and all. She is a gem and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her. I know God has special plans for this precious little girl and I am so grateful that he chose me to guide her in His ways!

Oh, and lest you think I'm raising an angel...I'm not. She has her moments of testing just like every other human being alive, too. :)

Happy Birthday, Grace!

Mmm! Yummy!

John has gotten into the thought that he will feed himself...but, of course, if it is cut up into little pieces he just picks them up and throws them on the floor. So, I thought I'd let him try the pizza as a whole slice. He ate about 1/3 of it before he decided he was done. :)

Proverbs 20:22

Do not say, "I will pay you back for this wrong!" Wait on the Lord and he will deliver you. Proverbs 20:22

Proverbs 20:22 is our memory verse for this week. I usually go into a little detail about what each of our verses mean, but don't go too in depth. As Libby was finishing up her memory work (which consists of repeating the verse about 10 times with words disappearing) I got to thinking about "waiting on the Lord". How many times in the Bible does it say to "wait on the Lord"? How often do I wait on the Lord? Hmmm...I think there is a lack on my end of this whole waiting thing. After Libby finished memorizing the verse I pulled the word "wait" out and asked her what it meant. She said "stop or patience". I told her she was exactly right and we started talking about times mommy or daddy had asked her to wait and she either had or hadn't. We talked about how it is very hard to wait...not just for her, but for her mommy and daddy, as well. It was a really good conversation. It was a reminder that I very much needed. I need to be more intentional about stopping and being patient with the Lord because His timing is always perfect!

And after it was all over? We had a good laugh to lighten the conversation up. I needed to get something downstairs and Libby and Grace wanted to come with me. So, I climbed over our fence...and as Libby was getting ready to climb over, Grace got there first...and Libby had to wait. We laughed about how Libby was already putting the rubber to the road on this lesson in waiting. These are the conversations and the life moments that I love to have with my children! Hopefully, I can be a good example in waiting and, hopefully, Libby can learn waiting in the small areas of life so that she can transfer it to the big areas later.
